USA Hockey begins at the rink

Monday January 5th was the big kick off night for the 2009 USA Hockey. After a pre season gear event at the rink the young kids of the Methow Valley hit the ice for a spirited first practice. The program is seeing some growth this year with many new kids looking to learn how to skate and become hockey players, we also have a great number of new volunteer coaches helping out this season which made for a nicely organized practice session. Cub Scouts Descend Upon The Rink

January 6th the local Cub Scout group showed up at the rink for a spirited session of skating while the snow fell. After a few delays to move the snow off the rink and a couple hours of play the party was shut down due to a quick change in the weather which saw the snow quickly change to rain! We are happy that groups such as these are taking advantage of the great open skate times that the new 2008-2009 schedule allows.
